     The beloved musical by Grammy Award-winner Sara Bareilles (“Brave” “Lovesong”) is yet another Olney Theatre Center Regional Premiere. Tony-nominated director Marcia Milgrom Dodge returns to the Roberts Mainstage (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Once) for a new serving of one of the most mouth-watering American musicals of the century. Jenna is stuck in a lousy marriage and dreaming of an escape while she bakes pies and waits tables at her small town’s local diner. But it “Only Takes a Taste” of something different to spark some drastic changes – but are they for better or worse? With the help of her fellow waitresses and a cast of colorful characters, Jenna learns the winning recipe’s been hers from the start.

     Travel from New York to San Francisco through stunning landscapes, historic towns, and vibrant cities—and learn to craft a cinematic promo video of your journey using DaVinci Resolve, using stunning footage from a real documentary. Using DaVinci Resolve, you will work with provided footage, music, drone shots, and voiceovers, selecting the elements that best represent the journey across America.

    This promo video aims to provide students with a hands-on, practical approach to learning the editing, color grading, and delivery pages of DaVinci Resolve. By the end of the course, students will have a solid understanding of how to use the program independently for future video projects. Students will use the editing systems at Docs In Progress, with DaVinci Resolve, a free program they can continue working with after the course.

     The beloved musical by Grammy Award-winner Sara Bareilles (“Brave” “Lovesong”) is yet another Olney Theatre Center Regional Premiere. Tony-nominated director Marcia Milgrom Dodge returns to the Roberts Mainstage (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Once) for a new serving of one of the most mouth-watering American musicals of the century. Jenna is stuck in a lousy marriage and dreaming of an escape while she bakes pies and waits tables at her small town’s local diner. But it “Only Takes a Taste” of something different to spark some drastic changes – but are they for better or worse? With the help of her fellow waitresses and a cast of colorful characters, Jenna learns the winning recipe’s been hers from the start.

Tony-nominated director Marcia Milgrom Dodge returns to the Roberts Mainstage (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Once) for a new serving of one of the most mouth-watering American musicals of the century. Jenna is stuck in a lousy marriage and dreaming of an escape while she bakes pies and waits tables at her small town’s local diner. But it “Only Takes a Taste” of something different to spark some drastic changes – but are they for better or worse?     This hands-on class teaches new filmmakers to plan, shoot, and edit short documentaries. It covers visual storytelling through interviews, B-roll, and archival footage and photos. You'll create a short character profile of a person.

    To prepare for this class:

    • Choose a person for your documentary. It can be a relative, or a local community member. That person should be available for interviews and tied to an interesting location or activity.

    • Have a short pitch ready about why this would be an interesting story.

    Sarau de Samba is presented by the region’s premier Brazilian performing arts presenter EducArte in partnership with Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts & Culture. Tony-nominated director Marcia Milgrom Dodge returns to the Roberts Mainstage (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Once) for a new serving of one of the most mouth-watering American musicals of the century. Jenna is stuck in a lousy marriage and dreaming of an escape while she bakes pies and waits tables at her small town’s local diner. But it “Only Takes a Taste” of something different to spark some drastic changes – but are they for better or worse?      The National Archives at College Park and the Library of Congress on Capitol Hill are the richest and most accessible motion picture and stills collections on earth and they are at your fingertips, not via computer, but by visiting each facility in person as a researcher.

    This 2-day course will bring you to these facilities, show you what is there, and have you go through the steps to view and, in most cases, walk away with materials.

    This special opportunity will take place over a Tuesday and Wednesday because they are the quieter days at these facilities. The classes will begin with an introduction along with advice and descriptions of the collections. Then you will visit the research rooms, learn about the rules, equipment, and hints for locating materials. You will meet the staffs -- the most important resource. Toward the end of each day you will have time to work on your own project with one-on-one guidance.

    This fringe hit from London makes its U.S. Premiere in the Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab! Whether or not sleepover parties with friends were part of your upbringing, you’re invited to join Elle, Shan, Funmi, and Rey at theirs. These four Black British teenagers are growing up fast, each coping with their unique challenges of disability, sexuality, religion, and family. Their sleepover parties are a complex dance of adolescent bluster and aspirational performance, interspersed with moments of intimate honesty that seem to take them all by surprise. Most of all, Sleepova is a testament to the joys of friendship, centering a quartet of young women tentatively making their way in the world.

     The beloved musical by Grammy Award-winner Sara Bareilles (“Brave” “Lovesong”) is yet another Olney Theatre Center Regional Premiere. Tony-nominated director Marcia Milgrom Dodge returns to the Roberts Mainstage (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Once) for a new serving of one of the most mouth-watering American musicals of the century. Jenna is stuck in a lousy marriage and dreaming of an escape while she bakes pies and waits tables at her small town’s local diner. But it “Only Takes a Taste” of something different to spark some drastic changes – but are they for better or worse? With the help of her fellow waitresses and a cast of colorful characters, Jenna learns the winning recipe’s been hers from the start.
